Joining the MSI family as one of its earliest Indian sisters, Sr. Elizabeth emerged as a trailblazer within the congregation, embodying its mission with unwavering dedication. Her decision to pursue missionary work further underscored her pioneering spirit, as she became the inaugural member to venture into Cameroon, demonstrating her adventurous nature and firm commitment to spreading the Gospel to distant lands.

Despite the inherent challenges of being the first missionary in a new territory, Sr. Elizabeth approached her calling with zeal and compassion, leaving an enduring impact on the communities she served.

Throughout her life, Sr. Elizabeth prioritized intellectual growth, actively engaging in short courses and seminars to enhance her skills as both a nurse and a missionary. Her dedication to excellence garnered numerous certificates and accolades, affirming her commitment to quality service.

In Africa, Sr. Elizabeth’s missionary fervour found expression through her roles as a dedicated nurse and evangelizer. Equipped with training in family apostolate, counselling, and biblical studies, she adeptly served her communities, leaving an indelible mark through her tireless efforts and dedication.

Sr. Elizabeth’s deep faith and devotion were evident in her favourite scripture: “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ” (Col 3:23-24), which encapsulated her approach to life: she served wholeheartedly, knowing that her ultimate reward came from serving the Lord. Her profound devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Mother Mary permeated every aspect of her service, inspiring all who crossed her path.

Her legacy endures through her service-mindedness, disciplined lifestyle, and profound passion for missionary work. Sr. Elizabeth’s readiness to undertake missions anywhere at any time, coupled with her delicate nature and ever-present smile, left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
